Only Jesus
I love this video I always seem to go back to it time and time again. It is powerful what Jesus can do. He is so amazing I love him more and more. I have been contemplating his judgment and his grace for a while now. It really hit me today how much of a lion and a lamb God can be. He is a wise judge and graceful savior.
I think many times God can use us to be a judge in something or a rescuer. I think that the west can miss how his judgement can save the world. God can work through us to keep the world from consuming itself. I mean its destructive nature, we must step in to take cause of the hurting and the sick who do not know the way out of condemnation. Jesus frees us from condemnation and slowly with due time into the people we need to be for others. This is mostly gauged on our pride. For if we are without love how can we show each other the love of Jesus?
There are steps of being wise people that lead a people out of the world and into real life with Jesus.
Isaiah 1 is a great passage especially verses 10-20
10 Hear the word of the LORD,
you rulers of Sodom;
listen to the instruction of our God,
you people of Gomorrah!
11 “The multitude of your sacrifices—
what are they to me?” says the LORD.
“I have more than enough of burnt offerings,
of rams and the fat of fattened animals;
I have no pleasure
in the blood of bulls and lambs and goats.
12 When you come to appear before me,
who has asked this of you,
this trampling of my courts?
13 Stop bringing meaningless offerings!
Your incense is detestable to me.
New Moons, Sabbaths and convocations—
I cannot bear your worthless assemblies.
14 Your New Moon feasts and your appointed festivals
I hate with all my being.
They have become a burden to me;
I am weary of bearing them.
15 When you spread out your hands in prayer,
I hide my eyes from you;
even when you offer many prayers,
I am not listening.
Your hands are full of blood!
16 Wash and make yourselves clean.
Take your evil deeds out of my sight;
stop doing wrong.
17 Learn to do right; seek justice.
Defend the oppressed.[a]
Take up the cause of the fatherless;
plead the case of the widow.
18 “Come now, let us settle the matter,”
says the LORD.
“Though your sins are like scarlet,
they shall be as white as snow;
though they are red as crimson,
they shall be like wool.
19 If you are willing and obedient,
you will eat the good things of the land;
20 but if you resist and rebel,
you will be devoured by the sword.”
For the mouth of the LORD has spoken.
Judgement has steps we can see in 16-18 has steps of growing as a wise judge.
1. Wash make yourselves clean
2. Take your evil deeds out of my sight.
3. Learn to do right; seek justice.
4.Defend the oppressed
5.Take up the cause of the fatherless
6 Plead the case of the widow.
We must have a heart that does all these steps with the right heart we must see that we are wrong with out God. This should not lead us to do works but compell us to do things for God because we love him. WE ARE SAVED BY GRACE THROUGH FAITH AND THIS IS NOT OF OURSELVES IT IS THE GIFT OF GOD NOT BY WORKS LEST ANY MAN COULD BOAST.
We need wisdom to be good at justice so that the oppressed are defended the fatherless are fathered and the case of the widow is won.
There is so much depth to step 4-6
This will bring about the 7th step verses 18-20. A settled matter, people's need met, a good land to prosper in..These are all connected.
We need to be spiritual fathers to the fatherless, free people from the slavery of this world and help the cause of the hurting.
Let God have the glory in all of this...
